These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and QubitSofTech ("we", "us", "our"), a software development company based in India, governing your use of the mobile application NumerIQ Scientific Calculator ("NumerIQ" or "the app").
QubitSofTech is the organisation that publishes NumerIQ, and is the party to this agreement. It can be reached at the address in section 17.
By downloading, installing or using NumerIQ, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app and please uninstall it.
NumerIQ is distributed worldwide through Google Play. These Terms are written to work internationally: section 15 sets a governing law, but nothing in these Terms takes away consumer rights that the law of your own country gives you and does not allow to be signed away. Where a clause here conflicts with such a right, that right wins, and the rest of these Terms still stand.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to install and use NumerIQ on any Android device that you own or control, for your own personal, educational or internal business use, in accordance with these Terms and the Google Play Terms of Service.
This is a licence, not a sale. We retain all rights not expressly granted.
You agree not to:
NumerIQ is offered to a general audience aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, you may use the app only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf. If you are under 13, please do not use the app.
In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the age of consent for online services is between 13 and 16 depending on the country; if you are below that age where you live, your parent or guardian must accept these Terms and make any advertising consent choice on your behalf.
NumerIQ is provided free of charge and is funded by advertising. The app displays a single banner advertisement supplied by Google AdMob.
We may change, add, remove or reposition advertising in future versions.
NumerIQ is a calculation tool, not a professional adviser. It is designed and tested to be accurate: the expression engine, converters, solvers, scientific constants and formula catalogues are covered by an automated test suite that checks results against published reference values and mathematical identities. Even so:
5.1 Verify anything that matters. You are responsible for checking that the tool you used is the right tool, that you entered the values you meant, and that the result is fit for your purpose. Do not rely on the app alone for any decision with financial, academic, legal, medical, structural, safety or professional consequences.
5.2 Inherent numerical limits. Some results are, by design, approximate:
5.3 Financial tools are estimates. Loan EMI and amortisation schedules, SIP/RD and lump-sum projections, simple interest, CAGR, GST and sales-tax calculations are mathematical illustrations based solely on the figures you enter. They are not financial, investment, accounting or tax advice, do not account for fees, taxes, statutory changes, lender-specific rounding conventions or day-count methods, and may differ from figures issued by your bank, lender or tax authority — whose figures prevail. Tax tools reflect particular national schemes (for example Indian GST) and do not apply elsewhere. Consult a qualified professional before acting.
5.4 Currency rates are indicative. Exchange rates come from a free public third-party service republishing European Central Bank reference rates. They are reference rates published once per business day, may be stale, may be unavailable, and are not live market rates or dealing rates. They must not be relied on for trading, remittance, invoicing or any transaction. The app always shows the provider's date and your download time — check them.
5.5 Health tools are not medical advice. The BMI calculator implements World Health Organization adult categories and states so in the app. BMI is a crude population-level screening measure. It does not apply to children, adolescents, pregnant or breastfeeding people, athletes or the elderly, and it is not a diagnosis of health or body composition. NumerIQ provides no medical advice. Consult a qualified healthcare professional.
5.6 Science and engineering tools are educational. Physics and chemistry formulas, the periodic table, scientific constants and log/antilog tables are provided for study and general use. They must not be used as the sole basis for engineering, laboratory, clinical, structural or safety-critical work.
5.7 No warranty of correctness. Subject to section 9, we do not warrant that the app is free of errors or that every result is correct for every input.
NumerIQ stores your calculations, history, favourites, notes and settings only on your device. We do not receive them and cannot recover them for you.
You are solely responsible for your data. Uninstalling the app, clearing its data, changing devices, or a device fault or loss will permanently destroy it, with no backup on our side. Export or note down anything you need to keep. Our handling of information is described fully in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
The app — including its source code, user interface, layout, icons, generated artwork, branding, the name "NumerIQ Scientific Calculator", the short name "NumerIQ", the company name "QubitSofTech" and the tagline "One Calculator. Every Calculation." — is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Mathematical formulas, physical constants and scientific facts are, of course, not owned by anyone; our expression of them in this app is.
NumerIQ includes third-party open-source software. Those components remain under their own licences, which you can read in full at Settings → About → Open-source licenses inside the app. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under those licences.
"Google", "Google Play", "Android" and "AdMob" are trademarks of Google LLC. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google.
The app relies on services we neither own nor control: Google Play, Google AdMob, and the frankfurter.dev exchange-rate service. Their availability, content and conduct are their own responsibility, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them. We are not liable for any third-party service becoming unavailable, changing, or ceasing to operate. If the exchange-rate provider becomes unavailable, the Currency Converter will show cached rates or tell you it cannot convert — it will never invent a rate.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NumerIQ is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with every device or Android version.
This section does not exclude or limit any warranty, guarantee or remedy that the law of your country gives you as a consumer and does not allow to be excluded. In particular, and without limiting the general rule stated at the top of these Terms: consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom keep their statutory rights in respect of digital content that is not as described or not of satisfactory quality; consumers in India keep their rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019; consumers in Australia keep the guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
These limits apply regardless of the legal theory of the claim and even if we were advised of the possibility of the loss. They do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or to any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited where you live.
We may release updates, add or remove features, or discontinue the app entirely at any time. Some updates may be required for the app to keep working. Android and Google Play may deliver updates automatically according to your device settings. We are under no obligation to provide support, maintenance or future versions.
The app is not necessarily available in every country, and features that depend on a third-party service may be unavailable in some regions. Where consumer law requires notice before a change that materially affects you, we will give that notice through the app or its Play Store listing.
You may not use or export NumerIQ in violation of any applicable export control or sanctions laws. You confirm that you are not located in, and are not a national of or ordinarily resident in, a country or territory subject to comprehensive trade sanctions, and that you are not on any restricted-party list under those laws.
These Terms apply until terminated. Your licence ends automatically if you breach them, and you may end it at any time by uninstalling the app. Sections 5 to 10 and 12 to 16 survive termination.
NumerIQ is distributed through Google Play, and your use of Google Play is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service. These Terms are between you and us only — Google is not a party to them, is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Google Play's policies as they apply to the distribution of the app, Google Play's policies prevail to the extent of that conflict.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts at East Champaran, Bihar, India — where QubitSofTech is registered — have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them.
